This is not a surprise — aside from a small night market, some cheap local restaurants, and a bus station, there’s little to see or do in the town itself.

If you do end up needing to overnight here, however, there are a few decent budget options to choose from near the bus station, and an interesting wilderness oriented resort just south of town.

Khuraburi is a very small town clustered around Phet Kasem Rd (Rte. 4), which runs north to south and is also known as Kura Rd for the stretch that runs through town. The bus station could be considered Khuraburi’s epicentre, and nearby are a couple budget resorts, small markets, local restaurants, a couple tour companies, and a 7-eleven.

The piers for Ko Surin and Ko Ra (Ko Phra Thong may also be reached from these but by private longtail only) are located about ten km north of town down a side road off Phet Kasem, which is clearly marked.

A couple of tour companies have their main offices at the pier, but most book tickets to Ko Surin at one of the travel companies in Khuraburi, which arrange transfers to the pier and then hand travellers over to the tour companies (there are no public ferries to Ko Surin, only speedboats run by tour companies).

About seven km directly west of Khuraburi town are a series of mangrove lined rivers feeding into the sea, and the local Bang Dat pier to Ko Phra Thong is located out here. Scenic countryside lies to the south of town, and Greenview Resort is located this way, along the road to Takua Pa.

There are few ATMs and banks scattered throughout town, including an ATM at the bus station.

Internet is available at Tom and Am Tour across the street from the bus station, and Boon Piya Resort and Khuraburi Resort, both near the bus station, offer free WiFi to guests.
