hey guys,

We are trying to find out if it is possible to buy a tuk tuk in Vietnam and doing a roadtrip through vietnam/Cambodia/laos with it. Do you may know if it is easy to get one and how much it would cost us? And is there other things to consider?

This sort of thing has been done - I think some guys even drove one to the UK.......however it will involve A LOT of bureaucracy etc etc - it seems getting through the Laos/Vietnam border isn't too hard, but I doubt if you'll be permitted into Thailand who have recently almost closed their borders to all but laos and Malaysian traffic.

In short, if you have time and money, you might do it.....you may have to pay for carnets or even "import" the vehicle .........

Check out motorbikes they seem to have less problems...at least between Laos and Vietnam.
