If you find yourself in Chumphon going to/from Koh Tao or the other Gulf of Thailand islands, the regular night market along Krommuang Road east of the train station is absolutely worth a visit. It lines up on both sides of the street for a good kilometer or more, and has a wonderful mix of traditional Thai favorites, with an emphasis on Phad Thai; and modern new influences too, like churros. Market vendors were particularly fun and friendly, even by Thailand's usual fun and friendly standards. Visit date February 2020. Cheers.

I agree! It's really a must-visit. Lots of cheap finds and the Thai foods are great.
