10 days in and around Saigon

Posted by sharontreloar on 8/3/2020 at 04:23

Hello, we’ve got 10 days from June 8th in Vietnam. I was thinking, 3 nights in Saigon to begin, then.... beach? Islands? Hoi An and Hue? I want it to be relaxing and not touristy and we want to conclude the trip staying somewhere flash in Saigon, like the Caravelle or Rex - one of those beautiful heritage hotels before we fly out. We like nature, markets, food and staying more than 1 night! What do you recommend?
Thank you!

So I’ve reviewed my ideas, and I think it would be good to do the Mekong region - can Tho, then Rach gia then head to an island. Has anyone been to Nam Du island of late? I read some trip advisor reviews where people were freaking out about the rubbish. Anyone got any opinions?

Maybe check out Vung Tau for a few days. If you're not been before it's an expat centric spot but don't let that put you off. Lots of good places to stay and eat. 2 beaches to checkout. Go during the week as it gets busy weekend. Private bus from Saigon will get you there in a couple of hours. Free shuttle bus to your hotel. Private buses to and from Saigon airport.

Saigon is the largest city in Vietnam. Very soon I am coming here for my official work.
